SoulMate - is it for real?

One of those ultimate lazy Sunday's, when I was headed out for an even more lazier brunch with my girl pal as it was already past 2 in the noon! I was riding pillion and oh my love for the pillion ride is ridiculous and at the same time unbelievable. It gives me such a pleasant panoramic view of the daily hustle. Inadvertently something in particular caught my attention that day - The-giggly-hand-holding couple, here, there, everywhere, these are the times when I remember a totally irrelevant poem I read back in my school days "Water here water there water everywhere, nor any drop to drink"

Is it the 14th of February all of a sudden, wait a minute, am I in a time capsule? No ! I checked again, No !
Anyways, so much of visual mushiness made me think of a term I have been contemplating almost all my life, and still the term stares back at me, without an answer, term called "Soulmate"!
What does it mean? Does it exist for real or is it something of a parallel universe? Do Soulmates really exist?
Nada ! That's my answer !
Following on the same lines, the other day , not very long ago, I was checking my mailbox and I came across a little pamphlet of a sorts and it read "Are you single and looking for a Soulmate? If yes, then sign up to our site and we guarantee you in finding your "The One", but hurry before he slips away "
This was so crass, what do they mean by "...hurry before he slips away" like "The One" has been cherry picked by the moderator of the site just for me and he is the hot selling piece of cake and if I were to delay, he will be someone else's Soulmate?

OK! So this is what my good friend Merriam-Webster tells me:

Full Definition of SOUL MATE

1:  a person who is perfectly suited to another in temperament

2:  a person who strongly resembles another in attitudes or beliefs <ideological soul mates>

If that were to be true, is this Soulmate person supposed to be in our current geographical area? or can they exist anywhere in the world, as I also understand there is only one Soulmate per person!
So, would that also mean, you would find your true Soulmate if only you were a Globe-trotter? and chances of finding The One are thin if you weren't much of a traveler? So what happens to the people you have known in the past? Would they be mere qualifiers for "The Uno" position?
If hypothetically one were to find the Soulmate, would that guarantee a happy ending?
With all these muffled cloudy thoughts, I dint realize I drifted to a cozy slumber!
When I woke up, I made peace with myself that probably "Soulmate" was just a rhetorical term and it was formulated to get people believing and keeping the positive hope alive!

Cheers!
