Once upon a Magical Date!!
If only love stories were this simple, then all one had to do is get in trouble and find a knight to being rescued! Tchh...Tchh...Nowadays anything and everything has a very shallow shelf life. But i believe there is always that Uno special person that happens to you and you make some beautiful memories with that person, the kind of fond memories which always comes back to you and makes you smile!
...That day was no less...it was a rather gloomy day and i had a date! R and me had spoken a few times and had gotten to know each other rather well. We were to meet that day for the first time and upon close consideration to the kind of music we both liked, we decided to meet at Legends of Rock. By sharp 6pm I was greeted by R in front of the venue and even though it was technically the first time we were seeing each other, it felt like we had known each other all along. We were given a table for two, which was rather close to the speaker, after a bit of contemplation we shifted to a different table. This one was good, right in front of the big screen playing all your favorite rock songs. Wow! After a couple hours of chatting, a few martinis and a dozen of awesome rock numbers, R came up with an idea (apparently inspired by Ted's concept of Super Date of 'How I Met your Mother' fame).
R: We should have another date, today!
Me: Huh! Ok...but iv begun to love this place so much, shame another place would'nt be as good as this one :(
R: Ok! Then we must have another date here !
Ten minutes of rearrangement later, we shifted to yet another table , this time there was rather some blaring music which we ignored. Few more martinis and an hour of tipsy reminded me i should and must request the DJ to play my favorite song! With a breezy walk i reached over to the DJ..
Me: Heyy...uuu...Mr. DJ, what do i have to do to get my favorite song played?
DJ: What song do you want to hear?
Me: Paradise by Coldplay.
DJ: Sorry girl, its not my genre, cant play that song !
Me: You kidding me? What kind of Genre-racism is that? Aargh...! Ok so let me guess, by the feel of it, you would play Metal?
DJ: You Got me!
Me: Hallowed be Thy Name by Cradle of Filth!
DJ: You got some taste girl, commin ryt up !
Basking in the DJ's compliment (i sure have some taste you racist!) , I had just gotten to my table when i figured there were some crazy drunk people dancing around us. While R and myself were just enjoying our second date and making fun of people who were trying to dance to metal, we heard the creepy song begin...Cause at 5 o'clock they take me to the gallows pole..The sands of time for me are running low...ooww ooww oww oww...! And it all happened all at the same time...the guitar's strummed and screeched, a dozen people from nowhere started head-banging slash bhangra'ing, and a couple started Salsa'ing ! We were stunned ! What in the name of God ? This is Cradle of Filth people, show some respect!! And Salsa? Are you kidding me? May be we were too tipsy or just too hurt, eitherways R marched up to the Salsa'ing couple and showed his displeasure. Apparently the table next to us were in agreement and they were on our side " You can't Salsa to whichever song man...its so rude yo, this is so depressing man yo...your guy is doing the right thing man...go for it dude...Kill him..yes hurt him...use the fork! Wow! That's some cheering! From nowhere, this girl who was Salsa'ing comes to me with flying arms and hugs me, Twice! I was bewildered, what just happened?! I was probably trying to recuperate from the weirdness that took me by my guts, and i hear R's voice...' Nope ! They just dont get it...Im sorry i tried my best but to no luck ! ' ...and an immediate flood of revenge occupied all of us including the 'Yo-kids' from the next table and of all the naive things we started throwing tissue paper at that couple!! Yeay...We Win !!
Soon after my song dedication was over, everyone was quietly back to their seats! This was unbelievable, so it was just the feel of the song which brought all the creepiness together ( which is all about the protagonist singing before he is taken to be hanged for his whatesoever sins ).
R and myself had a wonderful time that evening until the place closed down, 1am to be precise, be it R’s interpretation of killing himself with a fork or talking about all relevant and non-important things in life, striking similar chords every now and then...be it the Sitcoms we follow, Murphy's law, Alfred's law, our penchant for travel and so on and so forth. With a warm and cozy feeling we rid each other goodbye, with the hope of an even more wonderful date-to-be!
