Summer Must Have Staples
Those leather biker jackets, those waterfall coats, those clean cut blazers and those ever so chic moto jackets have been conveniently sidelined, courtesy summers!
I personally love layering and never get tired of it. My wardrobe stacks all kinds of winter jackets and warm layering pieces and i always have a jacket for every outfit. But sadly I had to move all of them back to the attic, not only because the winter is over but also because my wardrobe cannot hold the ginormous amount of winter wear that i have gathered over time.
A lot of other countries have a beautiful season called spring after winter. I love reading spring blogs and spring haul videos are super fun. But sadly, India, the place where i come from does not have any mention of spring. For the amount of Sun worship that happens in India, Sun is always in a super hurry to shine its awesomeness on us.
Probably back in the dark ages, may be even stone ages, spring and summer must have had a bet and spring must have lost to summer, just how Hades lost to Zeus! Hence, in my beautiful country there are only three seasons as opposed to other countries - summer, autumn, and winter; and rain just happens during any of these three seasons and acts like a cranky teenager!
Enough of rambling! Today i would like to talk about some of the summer staples in accessories.
Ballet flats - Nude ballet or dusty pink are the most suited colors of the season. Nude flats not only elongate your legs but are extremely feminine and are my most favorite color for footwear. The ones i own are from Head Over Heels and are quite affordable.
Shades - You should and would need a pair of sunnies to protect your soul piercing peepers from the Sun god, don't you? I have chosen these ones from Mango. Not only are they super stylish but also wont burn a hole in your pockets.
Wristwatch - During warmer months, I'd rather not wear a watch mostly because i like to keep my look very simple and almost plain Jane. But if i do wear a watch, i like to wear something very light and almost weightless. The watch mentioned in the picture is from Fossil ( here )and it has the softest and feather-lite leather along with a rose gold dial. The watch is so buttery soft that i hardy feel like i am wearing a watch.
Hand cream - I would also like to keep a hand cream in my bag to keep my dry hands and cuticles moisturized. I like to use the ones from Marks and Spencer. They have a humongous variety of hand creams and body lotions. My favorites are Strawberry and Mango hand creams. They smell heavenly and are worth much more than their cost.
Nail Enamels - I just picked up these matte nail enamels from Studio West, which are a subsidiary of WestSide. They dry super quick and look like a very expensive manicure. I am totally crushing on the Grey matte finish and is a must try on.
Perfume - Be it summer, winter or any other season but one beauty product that I'm stuck to like a leech is a fragrance. I have perfumes for all main seasons and sub seasons or the lack of it :)
I like to use more florals during summers and this particular one from YSL called La Parisienne ( here ) is my summer favorite.
And always do carry your music along regardless of the season!!
My current favorite numbers :
Ed Sheeran - Shape of You ( here )
James Arthur - Say you won't let go ( here )
Hoping this was a helpful blog.
Cheers,
S
