MACalicious!!
I have been super obsessed with lipsticks since a very young age. I think i must have been a 2 year old toddler when it happened. I still vividly remember it, mostly because this story has been narrated to me a gazillion times from all my family members who had witnessed the sheer awesomeness. So as the history goes, my cousin and me were extremely busy playing and eating mud and ripping each other's baby hair apart when i found a lippie lying around all by itself sans its owner. As a natural instinct i opened it and popped it in my mouth! God bless my family who had one helluva ride getting that thing out of my throat :D
Fast forward to this day, i have ended up collecting many lip products and most of them stay almost unused till date. I probably imagine to save them on my will for my grandchildren or grandpets. My all time favorite lippies are those from MAC.
Some of the fashion bloggers and vloggers that i follow use hoards of makeup products and their technique and skill is remarkable. But, being the lazy and sometimes morbid person that i am, the only makeup products i have come to learn to use are a kohl and a lippie. That's It ! If its a super important event which required me to look fabulous then I would convince myself to use a concealer and a foundation. As a working professional, i hardly find the time or the interest to do a full coverage makeup and i more often than not reach out to my gel liner and a lippie.
Being dusky skin toned, it has always been a challenge to find the right shade of lipstick for myself. Although i have been a big fan of nude shades, i couldn't use them as they would just end up washing me out. With time i realized that brown shades with mauve'y undertones are my actual nudes and the only brights that complimented me were deep reds. Hence, most of the lip colors i own range subconsciously around browns and reds and burgundys.

MAC Diva - This has been my pinnacle most favorite lipstick of all time. This color is deep and mysterious. It has a beautiful matte texture and stays put on the lips throughout the day. This lipstick also has an interesting story of how i got my hands on it. Apparently Diva had run out from all MAC stores in Bangalore and i was craving it bad and so was a girlie of mine. We pestered a common friend who was flying to Singapore on work to get it for us and to our disbelief he did. Although they were a bit pricey in Sing-Dollars, we bought it nevertheless. I'm sure that's what a true Mac fan would do!
MAC Rebel - As 'bold' and as 'breaking the barrier' the name suggests, its a chameleon of a lipstick. At a face value, it looks almost Gothic and scary. But when you put it on, it transforms into a beautiful raspberry to fuchsia depending on your body temperature.

MAC Flat Out Fabulous - Story Time ! So i was at the MAC store and everytime that i am there, i like to try the products On all by myself. I would take the lippie, sanitize it myself, use a wet tissue to wipe my lipstick off, use the MAC lip primer as a prep and would go ahead with swatching the selected lip color. I would check the texture of the product and if it needs to be built 2 or 3 layers for the actual color to pop, i would check all possible light and dark angles to see how the color paid off and so on and so forth. As much as one of my favorite past time as it is, the SA's( sales assistant) at the MAC store hate me for it! So, this particular day i was out and about, doing the whole shazam of lip swatching and the "sweet-until-then" SA turned sour very very quickly!
"Honey, you been here too long doncha think, try this, looks fab on ya, and dahling I'm really tired of your lil Broadway!"
As much as i was a tiny bit taken aback, i could'nt help but admire the shade he thrust into my palms. It was neon pink and it was lilac and it was lavender and fuchsia and matte and in the next 10 seconds, it was mine!!

MAC Polished Up - This was an absolute blind buy. I was as usual at the MAC store doing my whole little stage show of lip swatch and i had spent way too much time there and nothing was warming up to me. One of those days when i had a lipstick craving and had to get one because what if the world would come crashing and i would be left with one less lipstick ! I couldn't handle that kind of pressure so i ended up buying this shade. It wasn't such a bad buy after all, is what i figured after having tried it for the next one month. The lipstick is in a Luster finish, which means it wouldn't last very long. But i used it as a lip gloss and built the color every now and then. A Win!
MAC Russian Red - The never ending fight between Ruby Woo vs Russian Red is a topic every makeup enthusiast would know and its an age old battle, more of a - Clash of the Titans ! Having swatched both the shades on myself, the best red lipstick namely Ruby Woo lost for me. The Persian palace that i had built in the air came tumbling down with much disappointment. That's when Russian Red came to my rescue. It broke all stereotypes and the swatch was so beautiful that i had finally found my holy grail red lipstick!!! Such a find and such a hoot, Best Red Lipstick Evur!!
MAC Amorous - I was on a hunt for a work wear lipstick and after a much debacle, the plum shade Amorous was a relief. This is the second tube of this color and as one can see in the picture, I have run out of the second tube as well!
MAC Viva Glam 3 - Nope, i dint really want or need any more colors of MAC lipsticks, but how do you convince that to a 12yr old lip junkie who stays up in my head all day all night! So, there i was, like a lost puppy and all i wanted was to be adopted and loved for the next 2 or 3 hours and spoilt like a princess. After endless swatching and trials i zeroed in on Viva Glam 3. This shade is much like MAC Verve but with mauve undertones. And so i decide to treat myself to a new lippie, because why the hell not?!

There are still shades that I secretly covet and one day I shall possess them all ! With such warm and fuzzy thoughts I am ending this post here.
