Travel Essentials around the Year!

Dude : Hey Ssup!
Me : Hi..err..can I borrow your facewash?
Dude : Sure mate..but its a mens facewash..hope you don't turn into a dude haawhaaw :D

(Dude mumbling to his fellow dude : Mate..that chick poor thing lost her luggage I guess...should we invite her over to breaky with us?
Fellow Dude : Sounds swell..I hope we are still catching up with Samantha and Rebecca we met last night at the party..I wanna soo get wasted!
Dude to me : Hey..you should totally come party with us and get sloshed mate! )

..And that was pretty much my cue to scoot. With random TMI (Too Much Info) coming from a random person, I had to make myself obsolete from there and had to convince myself that's what shared hostels were like and it was absolutely normal for complete strangers to give you random intimate information.
As the dude had already emphasized, I had lost a part of my luggage and hence my toiletries were scarce too. I was super overwhelmed as this was my first ever solo trip and I had planned this trip for a while - the travel the stay the kinda places to visit the recommendations and what not! Losing luggage is like losing all your hopes and dreams when you are travelling. The delicate hopes and dreams that you had designed for over a month ever since you planned your travel, especially for a fashionista; as I had carefully curated the exact outfits I would be wearing during my stay at Bratislava. Day wear, Evening wear, cute PJ's and accessories and yadayada.

It's been around 4yrs since this incident and the trauma has always hung in my head. So I decided to make a little list of travel kit essentials; the absolute items one must carry during a travel.

Travel Pouch or any equivalent of the same in a sleek and non bulky design to hold all your essentials. I have chosen this neon travel pouch from a local handicrafts store. Its fuss free and houses all my tiny tubs, tubes, bits and bobs.

Shampoo is a must and I make sure its either a herbal one or not extremely chemically to the least. Since I have Multiple Personality disorder with my hair, more often than not they behave erratically and end up doing a Chewbacca on me, especially when I'm travelling as the water tends to change at different places.

Shower Gel hell yeah! I love the ones from Marks and Spencer for their variety and abundant choices. I have spoken about my love for Marks and Spencer bath and body products in my previous blog too. Many a times I do skip shampoo and I double up using the shower gel instead! If you want to skip the shampoo like me, then please make sure to carry a gentle Shower Gel so you can double it up as a shampoo and as a face wash too !!

Baby Wipes are essential especially when travelling in the warmer months. They are refreshing and keep your face cool and they can also be used as mild makeup remover.

Perfumes always makes my list of staples. I highly recommend buying perfumes from Sephora because a lot of times the SA's give you tiny perfume samplers and they are super comfortable to carry it along instead of carrying your entire 100ml bottle of awesomeness.

Perfume Capsule from Dior

Body Creams are a must to keep those skin scales in check. I got this beauty from Sephora. The Mango body cream smells delicious. It has a thick consistency but the minute it touches my skin it gets absorbed in a second.

Sunscreen is something every human on earth must swear by. If you have oily skin like me and produce oil by the liter every hour then sunscreen gel is your best friend. I bought mine from the local medical store and it was quite affordable. Smells wonderful and does the job..win win !!

Travel cases/bottles are absolutely a blessing in disguise. I bought mine from Sephora and they are quite sturdy. They allow you to take all your products like shampoo's and shower gels and hand wash and body creams et al in smaller quantity; just as much as you would need on the move.

Music! What would I ever do without you?! I always carry my music with me; travel or otherwise. With my music along I never for once feel lonely. I am currently having few of these songs on top of my playlist:

* Paris - Chainsmokers
* Lush Life - Zara Larson
* Want you want me - Jason Derulo
* Closer - Chainsmokers
* Shape of You - Ed Sheeran

Hoping this has been a useful write-up and also hoping it receives much love. Some more pictures from my dated trip below:

Hugs & Cheers,
